4. CARICOM Regional Renewable Energy Project Financing Workshop & RETScreen Training

The objectives of the Workshop are to: (i) Train existing and potential project developers, sponsors and analysts in the preparation of RE projects in keeping with the stipulated requirements of targeted financing intermediaries and to expose them to the range of proven innovative financing options available to support RE development; and (ii) Increase skills in RE project analysis and assessment using RETScreen and other software by training stakeholders, project analysts and financiers in the use of the software. 

The seminar is taught by Barbadian national Dr. Roland Clarke, who is a member of the RETScreen International Network of Experts. 

Note that registration is closed to invitees of CARICOM.

RETScreen is a widely used and recognized project analysis software developed by the Government of Canada, and may be downloaded FREE of cost from 
www.retscreen.net.  

This seminar will give a hands-on introduction to the analytical methods employed by software RETScreen, as well as its resource and product databases. Analysis methods include energy systems, financial, economic, risk and sensitivity, and greenhouse gas analysis.

This seminar will provide an introduction to the principles of solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind energy technologies for residences and small commercial and industrial customers.  

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to review and build project analysis models for photovoltaic (PV) systems.

This workshop targets professionals involved in project finance and funding, investments, insurance, accounting, project due diligence, project appraisal, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, consulting, engineering, etc.

There will also be a display of solar PV technology and other energy equipment.

The seminar is taught by Barbadian national Dr. Roland Clarke, who is a member of the RETScreen International Network of Experts. He was an invited speaker to the inaugural RETScreen Conference held recently in Niagara, Canada. He has also delivered seminars to the World Bank in Washington, DC, Jakarta – Indonesia, Manila – Philippines, and Hanoi – Vietnam, plus the Energy Research Institute, Beijing - China.

 

Dr. Clarke is also available for follow-up consultations, internal
training, integration of RETScreen into a company’s systems, and due
diligence analysis.
